The most frequently asked question at this time of the year is how do I create the best year of my life?
Now, if that question has been on your mind, if you are not sure where to start, what to do, or which direction to take, then stay with me because this episode is for you.
But before we begin, a quick disclaimer: this episode was in fact recorded a couple of years ago, but it is incredibly relevant for this time of the year, especially if you're someone who loves to reflect and reset with intention, or if you're someone like myself.
Now, if you're the type of person who wants to start the year strong — not just setting the goals, but staying consistent, following through and actually finishing what you start. If you want to look back on the previous months and clearly see what worked and what didn't, and what needs to shift so you can grow, then this episode will be exactly what you need.
Also, please excuse the noise. This episode was recorded outside, as I would like to say, on the fly when I was doing my own work of planning and mapping my goals and also doing my deep reflection. So yes, you may hear a little bit of background sound, but trust me, the message is so powerful and that's what really, truly matters.
Right now is the perfect moment to sit down, to reflect, to reset, plan, and prepare yourself for the year ahead. So I'm inviting you to take a deep breath. Ah, create a little quiet space for yourself. Grab a coffee or your preferable drink, and let's begin the journey of creating the best year of your life. Enjoy.
Now, if you're looking for ways to improve your health, to discover a happier, healthier and more confident you, my friend, I've got something for you: the 21 Day Healthy Living Challenge.
This challenge has been designed to support you in creating lasting and positive changes in your life. This is not a fitness journey, but if you choose to incorporate some fitness throughout these 21 days, no doubt your results will be greater.
Instead, this 21 days will help you better understand your emotional world and the powerful connection between food and mood. This is the guide where you can change your health by just understanding yourself better. And over eighteen lessons with three reflection pauses, you will explore the impact of what, why and how we eat — empowering you to make healthier choices that nourish both body and mind, and to help you regain a healthy relationship with food, mood and yourself.
This 21 Day Challenge is built on four categories or four pillars: Foundation, Mindset, Connection, and Embodiment.
In Foundation, we go through recognising your emotional eating patterns, or in other words, your emotional eating loop. We also pay attention to decoding your “why” of eating. Another thing that we discuss is destructive eating patterns. What type of eater are you? You will be gaining more awareness of what type of eater you might be. And lastly: what's your eating story? Where is your eating story coming from?
Now moving into Mindset, we speak about the power of your language, fitting in and acceptance, fitting out, building healthy boundaries, forgiveness, and food.
When it comes to category three — Connection — we talk about rebuilding your relationship with food, eating with intention, letting go of judgement and self-criticism, and connecting with your hunger rhythm.
Now moving into category four — Embodiment — we expand on repairing and restoring through regular sleep, stress, and eating connection. How does that impact your daily life? We also expand on mindful eating tips and strategies, as well as building clear boundaries.
So, my friend, if you're ready to make some serious and lasting changes in your life, make sure to click the link wherever you are listening to this podcast and step into a new year. In advance, I want to congratulate you for choosing you. I'll see you shortly.
Imagine learning to truly trust and believe in yourself. Imagine rising above self-doubts and knowing deep down that you are enough exactly as you are. Now imagine showing up as your most authentic self — the person you were born to be. Free, lovable and unstoppable.
Welcome to The Billy Boss Show. This is your space if you're ready to stand up for yourself, to shine from within and live fully. If you're ready to be, do and have more — more love, more joy, more laughter, both personally and professionally — you are in the right place.
I'm your host, Billy Boss, and you're listening to The Billy Boss Show.
Hello, amazing superstars — Billy Boss here. And I am here to answer one of the most frequently asked questions around this time of the year, and maybe you have the same question and you're not sure how to move forward.
Now this is the question: How do I create the best year of my life?
If you’ve had this question on your mind and you’re not sure how to create it, what to do, or what direction to take — stay with me.
At the end of each year, many people — including myself — take time to reflect on the current year, set new goals, new challenges for next year, and look ahead.
If you are one of these people, or if you would like to start benefiting from a little self-reflection, stay with me. I have some great questions for you that you can take away — questions you can look at once a year, once a month, every quarter, or anytime you’re seeking new direction and not sure how to approach it.
Some of these questions can be used as frequently as once a week, depending on your goals. I encourage people working on their health goals to use these questions too.
I'm inviting you to take a good look at your life more often than once a year. You will get so much more out of your life if you become more conscious of what you're creating, where you're heading, and how you're getting there. Ask yourself: What type of person do I need to be in order to move forward?
These questions are designed to help you complete this current year powerfully and to formulate the new year from a clean slate.
By working through these questions, you will complete this year strong and powerful — and build a “new me” for the new year. A new identity that will take you places you haven't been before.
Here are some questions to reflect on this year. I hope you have pen and paper ready.
1. What do I want to be acknowledged for this year?
What do you want to be recognised for? Write whatever comes to mind. Don't overthink.
2. What did I accomplish?
Think of small and big actions. Small accomplishments matter — reading books, starting a new exercise routine, leaving a toxic relationship, stopping people-pleasing — all of these are powerful wins.
3. What did I want to accomplish that I did NOT accomplish?
Then ask: Do I still want to do this? Sometimes your direction changes — and that's okay.
4. What were my biggest disappointments?
If you look at life through a glass-half-empty lens, you'll find disappointments. Write them down, then ask: What did I learn from these disappointments?
Now shift to glass-half-full — find the lessons. Write them down. Choose three lessons that will make the biggest difference next year.
Now that you’ve reflected, let’s shift into changing your patterns.
5. How do I limit myself?
Do you procrastinate? Self-sabotage? Talk yourself out of opportunities? Write it all down.
6. How do I explain my failures?
Do you justify? Blame others? Make excuses? Being aware of this helps you shift responsibility and change your patterns.
7. What are my limiting beliefs?
“I’m too old.” “I’m not good enough.” “I don’t have time.” Write them all down.
8. Create your new paradigm.
Your new identity must be:
Personal
Positive
Present tense
Powerful
Simply stated
Pointing to an exciting future.
Read your new paradigm out loud every morning and night — this reprograms your subconscious mind.
Now it’s time to look ahead.
9. What are my personal values?
What drives you?
10. What roles do I play?
Rate each role from 1–10.
11. Where am I out of balance?
Use a “wheel of life” to assess different areas.
12. If I could put one problem behind me once and for all, what would it be?
13. Which role is my major force next year?
14. What are my goals for each role? (Your actionable steps)
These questions help you reflect, shift patterns, and create your new identity — the “new you.”
Take your time with this. A week or two is ideal. Ask yourself these questions repeatedly. Write the answers down again and again, especially early in the morning.
This is not the time to judge yourself. This is growth time.
After enough reflection, you’ll have clarity on two things:
1. What do I want to accomplish in the next year?
2. Who do I need to become to achieve these goals?
I love doing this process and it helps me realign myself every year.
If you need support, please reach out. There is so much more we can do. These questions are just a starting point.
Enjoy this exercise — it truly can change your life personally and professionally.
One last note — please excuse my top! I've been carrying my puppies today and only noticed the marks after recording.
Wishing you all the best. Loving you dearly. Stay safe. Reach out if you need anything. My beautiful, humble team and I wish you all the best. Bye for now.
